VASCULAR LASER / PIGMENT LASER

Most people want to retain their youthful, fresh appearance as long as possible. However, our skin inevitably ages over the years, e.g. due to exposure to sunlight. That aging process leads to e.g. pigment spots, red spots and dilated blood vessels in the face, neck and cleavage.

Skin rejuvenation with a vascular laser (pigment laser/ Lime Light) can restore your youthful appearance, because it reduces or removes pigment spots, red spots and bothersome blood vessels and makes your skin look much smoother once more.

TREATMENT WITH THE LIMELIGHT
The visible light from the flash lamp is guided towards the right area using a glass prism. The light is absorbed by two structures in the skin: the melanin (brown colourant) in the pigment spots and the haemoglobin (red colouring) in the blood vessels. In just a few thousandths of a second, enough heat is created to successfully destroy these structures.

THE TREATMENT
Given that the treatment depends on the absorption of light in melanin (brown/pigment) and haemoglobin (red/blood), it will be most effective on people with fair, untanned skin. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the skin is not suntanned before or during the laser treatments. In general, there is no need for any post-treatment.

A facial treatment will take circa twenty minutes. Depending on the condition of the skin, one to three treatments will be needed to achieve satisfactory results.

There is no need to use an anaesthetic. Most people who have undergone this treatment compare it to the feeling of a rubber band hitting the skin, followed by a warm sensation that lasts several minutes.

It is advisable to avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen with SPF 50 for several weeks after the treatment.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
A few days after the treatment, you will notice that your skin appears a bit dirty. After that, it will begin to feel fresher and smoother.
